In need of a thin cork for coasters, pin boards or shoes?
Cork board rolls 0.8mm thick are used by the finest manufacturers of coasters, cork pin boards, shoe insoles etc.
In the production of pin boards and display cases, the cork roll of 0.8mm is glued with the soft underlay, for example porous fibre-board or hard cardboard. Then it is fixed in a light and durable wooden or aluminium frame – giving us the classical framed cork wall board. When manufacturing coasters, the cork is laminated with bookbinding cardboard, and then die-cut with knife punchers. Insoles manufacturers appreciate the natural, ecological and accommodating character of the natural cork and use it as insoles and shoe lining. Elastic and breathable cork lining ensures comfort even after a prolonged use.
Why not use thicker cork for these purposes? Because natural cork is there mainly for decorative purposes. Thinner cork looks the same as the thicker one, but it a few times less expensive.

We recommend Wakol D-3540 that can be found in our ‘Cork Glues’ section. Our advice is to use around 200 grams of glue per sheet, which means that 0.8kg of glue is enough for a rolled cork of 1mx4m, and a bucket of 2.5kg - 12 SQM. Of course using cork glue is not obligatory. The most widely used fixing glues and strong wood binders. It is best to choose a product with good initial tack, as it will make the job easier and faster, especially for the less experienced.
