Looking for the best cork board material? Medium grained cork board sheets 640x950mm are ideal for making any surfaces to pin information, announcements, bulletins etc. to. High elasticity, great aesthetic and high shatter resistance make medium grained cork perfect for wall notice boards, display cases and information screens.
A noisy neighbour?
Coarse grained cork sheets can be a great mean for thermal and sound insulation. A coarse cork panel has a higher density in comparison with medium grained or fine grained cork sheets. Fixed on the wall or ceiling is an acoustic isolation and eliminates all the sounds coming from the other side. If the wall is thin and the noise is of great inconvenience, it is worth to consider a light construction of 15-20mm cork insulation panel, air gap or mineral wool and closing plasterboard or OSB panel. In the majority of cases the placement of the 10mm wall cork insulation panel will be sufficient for reducing the noise.
Freezing outside and the walls are ice cold?
40 million cells full of air in every cubic centimetre gives thermal conductivity of 0.037 W/mK. What does this means? It means no more high gas bills and much more warmth in the apartment. Just 3-5mm coarse cork insulation panel is enough to make even the coldest walls warm to the touch. But the 7-10mm cork insulation sheets will provide enough insulation and will keep the warm air inside to turn it into a comfortable and cosy living space.
Best cork for cutting, engraving, painting over or printing?
Fine grained cork board sheets 635x940mm are a perfect material for any type of cutting, engraving, laminating and printing. Its high elasticity and uniformity, as well as very smooth surface and shatter resistance make it a great material used in production of various goods, such as: merchandise, shoe insoles, gaskets and many more. For the production of merchandise (i.e. cork coasters) we use cork sheets from 0.8 to 3mm thick. Cork combines perfectly with paper, cardboard, foam, plastics etc. For shoe industry (wedges, heels, lining, insoles) we offer sheets that are 5, 7 and 10mm thick. Fine grained cork of 2 to 5mm thickness is used for the production of gaskets, seals and clutch lining.
Is there anything bigger?
635x940mm for coarse grained cork sheets and 640x950mm for medium grained and fine-grained cork sheets are the biggest available formats in ‘Cork Sheets’ section. If this format is not satisfactory, cork rolls available in the ‘Cork Rolls’ section in the menu on the left may be a great solution. There are rolls of cork available in thicknesses from 2 to 10mm in any desirable quantity, as they are sold by linear metres.

How to fix cork sheets and what tools to use?
Cork sheets are a fine material that can be fixed in a variety of ways. The cheapest and the easiest method to fix them is by gluing them with cork glue. We recommend Wakol D-3540 that can be found in our ‘Cork Glues’ section. Our advice is to use around 120 grams of glue per sheet, which means that 0.8kg of glue is enough for 6 sheets, and a bucket of 2.5kg - 20 sheets. Of course using cork glue is not obligatory. The most widely used fixing glues and strong wood binders. It is best to choose a product with good initial tack, as it will make the job easier and faster, especially for the less experienced.
Those that are not traditional glue enthusiasts will surely be interested in our self adhesive cork tiles that can be found in the category nearby. Fixture of the self adhesive cork tiles is fast, clean and simple. After taking off the protective foil just glue the panel on prepared selected surface. With the help of good double-sided tape it is possible to create self adhesive cork wall tiles at home – what is left is to order a good medium grained cork sheet.
The method that we recommend the least is the fixture by using pins and nails. At first the result may be satisfactory but with time the cork pin board may start to warp and bend, turning unaesthetic. That is why we discourage any attempts at punctual fixture of the cork pin board both with glue and screws.
